April showers bring May flowers and our first flowers of May are the
return of the snow birds from the South. We are starting to awaken
from our winter nap and are preparing for some very worthwhile
Spring and Summer events.
The first project is to don our yellow (Jonquil) shirts and support
Gerald Hocker and his Jamboree show on Friday night. Bruce
Schoonover sent out a note urging all to wear their shirts to show
support and meet us there for a fun filled evening. Continuing the
spring flower theme, Don Stewart, our horticulturist, has planted
three trees in our service areas. He is looking for a place in
Roxanna, so -- if you know of the perfect spot let Don know so he
can get the tree planted and proceed with the procurement of a
plaque for each tree.

Lonnie has been our school advisor for the Lions club for many
years and has done an outstanding job. She will be sorely missed

work. Lonnie, thank you, thank you, thank you. Welcome aboard
Laura and Amy. See the article on the LEO Club on page 4 of the
Lions Roar.
The next "bloom'n" thing is the Convention and we have a great
group of attendees for a lot of the events. Charlie and Lou are
organizing our reservations. We have people attending workshops
on Thursday and Friday, the Melvin Jones Luncheon , the
Necrology Service, the Sub-District Lunch and of course we will be
